Worship is much more than singing. It is the offering of our whole selves to God in love, reverence, and obedience. Long before a song reaches our lips, worship begins in the posture of our hearts.

Throughout Scripture, God has always been more interested in the worshipper than the offering. He delights in hearts that are humble, sincere, grateful, and yielded to Him. When we prepare our hearts, our songs become more than music: they become an acceptable offering before the Lord.

Preparing for worship may involve setting aside distractions, spending time in prayer, reflecting on God’s Word, confessing known sin, and approaching Him with thanksgiving. These simple acts help us shift our focus from ourselves to the One who alone is worthy of all praise.

Whether you are leading worship, singing with a congregation, or worshipping alone in your room, remember that God desires truth in the inward parts. The most beautiful worship is not necessarily the one with the finest voice, but the one that flows from a heart surrendered to Him.
